VOLUNTEERS are needed to help plant trees at Highbridge’s Apex Park.

The Big Tree Plant scheme awarded Sedgemoor District Council £1710 to create an orchard within Apex Park and the next tree planting days will be held on January 26, February 8 and February 23.

Sedgemoor’s Ecologist Pete Grainger will meet volunteers at the Information Centre by the car park at 10am.

He said: “We’ll be working until about 4pm each day but you are welcome to join, or leave us, when you like!

“Please bring along a spade if you have one (we do have a few if you don’t have one available) as well as gardening gloves and warm clothes.”
