JUST over eight years ago, the County Gazette featured a story about a young pupil at Bishops Hull Primary School who had won a place at a prestigious ballet school.

The article, published on December 31, 2004, described how talented Jordan Harvey, then aged ten, was heading to the Hammond School in Cheshire.

Now, after an exciting eight years in which he has travelled and performed across the world, Jordan is back in Taunton to launch the Jittabugs Theatrical School of Dancing – and will be working with the mentor who was the first to recognise his talents.

Caroline Ashworth, founder of Jittabugs and Jordan’s former dance teacher, said: “I taught Harvey from the age of eight and saw his talent straight away.
“I am very happy to have him onboard with Jittabugs and I know people will love his classes.”

In recent years, Jordan has worked as a professional dancer, performed in a pantomime alongside EastEnders actor Joe Swash, and travelled to places including the USA, Australia, the Caribbean and the Middle East, performing on cruise ships.

He is trained in dancing styles including classical, street, hip hop, Latin, musical theatre and commercial dance, and will be offering a variety of classes to children and adults in venues throughout Taunton Deane.

He said: “I am so excited to be able to pass on my training and performing skills to the people of Taunton, my home town.”
