A WOMAN whose son has a rare hearing defect has helped organise lifesaving equipment and training courses across South Somerset.

Linda Kellaway got involved with Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome UK in its Big Shock campaign because of her son, Charlie.

She has raised enough money to fund five defibrillators, two of which are based at Tatworth Primary School and Holyrood Academy in Chard.

The machine can give people suffering a cardiac arrest a 50% chance of survival, compared to just 5% by using CPR.
