A MAN claiming to be a police officer asked to see a betting shop's takings in Chard.
On Sunday, October 27, a man in plain clothes entered Corals bookmakers in the High Street and claimed to be a police officer.
He showed staff a fake badge and asked to see the takings. Staff became suspicious and called the police so the man left the shop.
The incident has been reported to police and we are investigating an offence of impersonating a police officer.
CCTV enquiries have identified someone we believe could have information which could help us.
This man, or anyone who recognises him should contact Avon and Somerset Police and quote 107410/13.
Alternatively, phone the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. They never ask your name or trace your call.
