THE Christmas Tree Festival in Ilminster raised £70 for Action for Children.

Nearby Methodist churches also gave toys and gifts to the its children’s centres.

The charity, which runs a range of support services for children and families across Somerset through the centres, held Christmas parties, delivered presents to vulnerable young people and handed out food baskets to disadvantaged families in partnership with the Lord’s Larder.

Children’s services manager Alison Wray said: “By holding these festive events and activities we helped local families have some fun and deliver some Christmas cheer.”
