A CREATIVE chef from a Sanctuary Care home in Bridgwater won first place in the organisation’s annual Christmas cake bake.
It took Rebecca Sussex, assistant head chef at The Rosary Nursing Home in Mayfield Drive, Durleigh, around 36 hours to craft the stunning novelty snow scene complete with penguins skiing down a mountain and a clumsy Santa landing head first in the snow.
She said: “I was overjoyed to win – so happy, but shocked.
“I couldn’t believe it when they told me. I looked at some of the other cakes and there was some really good competition.”
