A PROGRAMME helping local people get back into work is taking place this month at West Somerset College

The short course, Pathways to Employment, enables learners to gain skills and experience in a vocational area along with nationally recognised qualifications.

The courses run in a range of subjects from steelfixing to beauty and a number of qualifications can be achieved including a certificate in First Aid.

The programmes are free to those claiming Job Seekers Allowance.

There will be hospitality and retail programme starting this Monday (January 13) and a steelfixing and construction programme starting on Monday, January 27.

In February, a beauty programme and customer service programme will be taking place.
