A BLACK tie charity Valentine’s ball will be held in Bridgwater to raise funds for people battling a serious genetic condition.

The event will be held at Quantock Lakes, Nether Stowey, from 7.30pm to 1am on February 15 in aid of The Neuro Foundation.

The charity helps people who have Neurofibromatosis, a condition which can cause nerve tissue to grow tumours that may cause serious damage by compressing nerves and tissue.

The event is being held on behalf of brave little Tayen Gilbert, who has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment for several tumours on her brain.

Tayen’s family have set up a group called Tayen’s Journey, to keep family and friends updated on her progress and to raise awareness about her condition.

Tickets for the ball are £25 and include a hog roast, two live bands – 2 Tone Red and Levi and the Bean – and an auction of promises.
