A CONCERT with carols and readings at the Minster church raised £688 for the charity SURE (Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment) at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
The audience was treated to a selection of traditional and modern carols, and joined South Somerset Choral Society, under musical director Tim Donaldson, in singing some old favourites.
The guest organist was Philip Scriven, who played Guilmant’s March on a Theme of Handel and Dupre’s Variations on Adeste Fideles.
SURE’s Vicky Gordon said: “We were treated to a feast of pleasure. The readers, organist and choir were simply great, and we’re very grateful to the choral society for its support.”
