A WOMAN who would normally have been recovering from a night on the town, instead enjoyed her best ever New Year’s Day.
Samantha Gill, from Holway, gave birth to her first child, daughter Sydnee-Nicola, at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, weighing 7lb at 1.34am.
Samantha was induced three weeks early as she was suffering from a liver disease.
“If I hadn’t been pregnant, I’d have been out on the town having a few drinks – but I won’t be doing that for a few years now,” said Samantha.
“I’m going to be staying with my mum and brother for a while to get used to being a mum.
“It’s the happiest New Year I’ve ever had by far and beats any other Christmas, birthday or anything.”
Other early arrivals at Musgrove yesterday were 7lb 1½oz Phoebe, daughter of Loren Marie Saunders, of Bridgwater, and 8lb 4oz Alfred, son of Nick and Kayleigh Ball, who live in Westonzoyland.
