THE Burnham lifeboat rescue service “fuel fairy” Ron Fisher has been awarded a crew performance award.
Ron has kept the lifeboat and tractor fuel reserves stocked up for the past seven years.
Lifeboat operations manager Ricky Holmes said: “Ron has worked reliably in the background ensuring our fuel requirements are always met, for without fuel the lifeboats cannot launch.”
Also recognised was Lyndon Baker, training co-ordinator for the Burnham lifeboat rescue service, for his work over the past 12 months ensuring volunteer crew members are all fully trained.
Mr Holmes said: “I am immensely proud of our achievements. Thank you Lyndon for all your hard work.”
