A NEW Year resolution book, arts and crafts, Kwik cricket and lots of games are just some of the fun children in Porlock can enjoy when 2014 gets underway.
A special play scheme is being organised by 1610 in the town on Thursday, January 2.
Play and Junior Activities worker for 1610, Suzanne Richards, said the scheme is part of a community initiative in West Somerset, proving the ideal solution for children who might be a little bored after the excitement of Christmas ends.
She said: “By New Year many children may be getting itchy feet and need some post Christmas entertainment.
“The play scheme is also a great help to many stressed out parents, many of whom will be back at work.
“We have tried to make it a fun packed day full of arts and crafts as well as sports to burn off all those Christmas chocolates and mince pies.”
The play scheme costs £10 and runs from 10am-3pm at St Dubricus School in Porlock.
The play scheme is suitable for children aged 5 and over.
