Fire destroys North Curry home

ANOTHER neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: “I saw all the fire engines at the property and it looked quite bad.

"I'm just glad that nobody was hurt, but what a terrible thing to happen to them just before Christmas.”


NEIGHBOURS who witnessed the fire said smoke was billowing from the property and large flames.

One neighbour, who didn't want to be named, said: “The flames lit the sky up - it was unbelievable what I was seeing.”


REPORTER Daniel Milligan is at the scene. He said: "The house looks completely gutted; there's barely any roof."



THE fire is believed to be at Higher House Farm.

FLAMES engulfed the tiled roof of the property and took dozens of firefighters to control.

A spokesman says the incident is now under control and cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fire crews starting damping down hot spots shortly after 7.30am. 


A LARGE fire broke out at a home in North Curry overnight (December 24).

Firefighters say the two-storey building suffered 80% damage in the blaze, which started shortly before 2.45am.
