EASTOVER in Bridgwater has been closed temporarily due to an unsafe structure.
Police and the fire service are on the scene and the area near Dominoes Pizza has been cordoned off.
The fire service is examining a potentially unsafe roof.
A fire service spokesman said: "We were called today at 12.48pm to reports that a flat part of the roof of a building in Eastover had peeled away and was hanging down over the street.
"The road was closed so crews could decide how best to make the area safe."
UPDATE
A fire service spokesman told the Mercury at 4.14pm: “The responsibility for the building in Eastover was handed over to the owner at around 3.30pm. I assume the road is open now.”
