STANCHESTER Academy presented a packed programme of festive musical treats to a busy Martock church as part of their annual carol service.

The carol service included a wide range of student performances from Stancheter Academy students and children from Martock Primary school.

The carol service was expertly coordinated by Stanchester music teacher Liz Hughes who, as well as coordinating the whole event, added some festive cheer with a unique festive knit!

As well as the student performances, the packed church enjoyed signing classic Christmas hymns: O Little Town of Bethlehem, Once in Royal David City, and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.

There was also an address from Rev. David Gent and a reading and thanks from Principal Jason Beardmore.

After the wonderful evening of music, visitors enjoyed mince pies and other refreshments organised by the Stanchester Academy PTA, offering an opportunity for friends and family to congratulate the students for the expert performances and delivering a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Jason Beardmore, Stanchester Academy Principal said, “It was a brilliant evening that was both memorable and truly professional and I can’t wait to see what they deliver next year!”
