Somerset Waste Partnership plans recycling centres shake-up

This is The West Country: Somerset Waste Partnership plans recycling centres shake-up Somerset Waste Partnership plans recycling centres shake-up

RECYCLING centres at Priorswood in Taunton and Minehead could open for more hours during the week from April under Somerset Waste Partnership (SWP) proposals.

It is looking into closing centres in Coleford and Middlezoy as it attempts to save £711,900 next year.

Managing director Steve Read believes the move would improve recycling levels and help cut flytipping.

Somerset Waste Board will take a final decision on February 21.

OK, so we have here acknowledgment from SWP that opening recycling centres for longer hours will cut flytipping. Presumably, SWP also now accepts that cutting the hours was indeed responsible for the flytipping boom in Somerset generally and Taunton Deane in particular.

Opening for more hours at the weekend makes a lot more sense than opening for more hours during the week. If all they do is open for more hours when most of us are at work, it will make little difference.

It would appear Cllr Rigby, that you oppose all cuts to all recycling centres throughout Somerset and the other rural areas throughout the UK.

You can of course continue to be relied upon by my billionaire chums and myself to continue supporting cuts to recycling centres throughout the urban areas...so please keep up the good work there Cllr Rigby in peddling the myth that austerity in the form of cuts and privatisations are necessary...Good chap!

You of course support the lie that local government cuts and austerity are necessary (whilst we billionaires got away without paying over £123 billion last year, stole over a billion in the 'Royal' Mail job, plundered £billions again in the other massive bank-jobs such as the LIBOR spectacular!!! mwowowhwhwhwhhahahah
ahahahahhhhhaaaa!)

That said however, where do suggest the cuts should be made in Somerset, if not in waste recycling?

And how do you suggest Somerset County Council would administer the unfolding £100 million of cuts if all 53 Somerset County Councillors were 'independent' like yourself?!

Isn’t it simply the case that this hypothetical coalition of 53 Cllr Mike Rigby-type ‘independent’ councillors would simply and rapidly disintegrate during the inevitable arguments about where the cuts should be made throughout Somerset?

This hypothetical scenario clearly reveals the limitations and flaws in standing ‘Independent’ Cllrs as a means to try to effectively fight and resist cuts and privatisations.

The hypothetical Mike Rigby-style coalition would collapse shortly after being elected, as each individual ‘independent’ Cllr would inevitably insist that the cuts should be made anywhere else in Somerset, but not in their own back yards!

Fortunately for us billionaires: the dirty unwashed millions of plebs haven’t seen through the fact that we own and control all of the main political parties and even the ‘Independent’ Cllrs such as yourself!

Keep up the good work Cllr Rigby……… we billionaires rely upon people like you, to help us stay where we are…. Firmly in the driving seat, getting richer by the second……

Mwhoaaaahahahahahaha
