FANCY yourself as a bit of an expert when it comes to predicting the football results?

Here is YOUR chance to take part in the County Gazette's Festive Football Fantasy League where we are asking YOU to predict the scores of the Premier League matches scheduled between Boxing Day and New Years Day.

We are also asking you to predict the scores of our local sides, Yeovil, Bridgwater and Taunton.

Reporter Daniel Milligan, who has published his own predictions in this week's paper, said: “This is a bit of fun for Christmas and there are prizes for the top three winners.

“All you have to do is predict the scores of the 30 Premier League games, three of Yeovil's Championship matches and three fixtures involving Bridgwater and Taunton - the more you get right, the more points you will earn - see below for details.”

Prizes are two tickets to a home league Yeovil Town match, a family ticket (two adults, two children) for a Taunton Town match and a replica Premier League football.

Fill in the coupon in this Thursday's paper (December 19) and get it to us at Somerset County Gazette, St James Street, Taunton, TA1 1JR, by 12noon on Tuesday, December 24.

5pts - for a correct scoreline. 2pts - for predicting a correct result, ie home win, away win or draw.

You will also need to choose four star players (they have to be from different Premier League teams). They will each gain 1pt for every goal they score between December 26 and January 1 but will lose all of their points if sent-off in a match.

The winner of the competition will be the person with the most points.

If there is a points tie at the end of the competition, the winner will be decided on the number of correct scorelines they have given. If it is still a tie, it will be down to the number of correct results - and if still a tie after that, it will go down to goals scored by the entrants' four star players.
