FAMILY rubbish and items for recycling will be collected on the two Saturdays and one Sunday over the festive period in Somerset.

Kerbside collections are unchanged on Monday, December 23, and Christmas Eve but are not taking place on Christmas Day or Boxing Day – they will be two days later, with Thursday’s pick-ups on Saturday, December 28, and Friday’s on the Sunday.

Collections will be as normal on Monday, December 30, and New Year’s Eve but there will be no pick-ups on New Year’s Day, with the rest of the week a day later.

Kerbside recycling and refuse collections will resume as usual from Monday, January 7.

Clinical and assisted waste collections follow the same pattern, while garden waste pick-ups are suspended from Christmas Day and resume from Wednesday, January 8 on usual days.

Recycling centres across the county will close on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
