SEDGEMOOR planners could give the all-clear to 200 homes on the former Bridgwater cattle market site off Bath Road at a meeting tomorrow (December 17).

The district council’s development control committee is recommended to okay the Housing Guild’s build bid.

Bridgwater Town Council has objected, arguing the “density and number of units appear excessive and design poor”, and 64 people have also signed a petition against the scheme.

However, a report to the meeting says the site is suitable for housing, and the development would “deliverarange of housing, contributions towards flood defences and primary school places and provision of outdoor play spaces.”
