VOLUNTEERS and staff at Ilminster Arts Centre are appealing to the community to help them raise funds while Christmas shopping online.

The centre is based in the old Unitarian Chapel on East Street in the heart of Ilminster and receives no regular funding.

It relies almost entirely on donations to stay open and is always looking for new fundraising ideas.

Sara Loveridge, of the arts centre, said: “The charity has been registered on the Easy Fundraising website for the past few years and is very grateful for the support received so far – but we would love even more people to use it.

“It is really simple and free for members of the public to register on the Easy Fundraising website and start raising money for Ilminster Arts Centre in just a few clicks.”

To get involved, visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk and click on ‘I want to support a good cause’.

Choose ‘Ilminster Arts Centre at the Meeting House’ as your cause – just type Ilminster into the search box and it will appear.

Follow the instructions to register and next time you shop online, if you do so via the links from the Easy Fundraising website, the retailer will make a donation to the arts centre at no cost to you.
