X FACTOR star Matt Cardle's performance at the Blake Hall in Bridgwater tonight has been cancelled.

In a statement, Matt told his fans: "Hi guys, I'm really sorry but we've had to take the difficult decision to reschedule tonight's show at Blake Hall, Bridgwater at the last minute.

"Unfortunately, I've had a ferocious throat infection over the past few days, which I had hoped would have cleared up, but this afternoon I burst a blood vessel on one of my vocal chords. I'm absolutely gutted.

"The set up of my 'Unplugged' shows is that it's just me and my guitar, singing a full show - there's no band and no gimmicks and so without my voice, it's impossible to give my fans the show that they expect and deserve."

The show has been rescheduled for January 11, 2014.

Dan Smith, of SRL Promotions, who runs the Blake Hall, said on Facebook a short time ago following Matt's announcement: "We as a venue are shocked by this and can only apologise.

"We are putting on a free show tonight with Joywride and Paul 'Iggy' Higginson.

"All of tonight's tickets are valid for the rescheduled show on 11th Jan 2014.

"If you would sooner have refund please go to place of purchase on Thursday 12th Dec.

"We are so sorry but out of our hands but hope you join us for the support bands tonight!!"
