Pensioner recovering after accident at The Clink
A PENSIONER who was hit by a car in Bridgwater yesterday (December 6) is expected to be released from hospital soon.
The man, aged 70, was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car while walking along The Clink on Thursday afternoon.
An ambulance spokesman told the Mercury: “We were called to an incident between a car and a pedestrian yesterday at 1.28pm.
“A 70-year-old male had a head injury and was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton by air ambulance.”
Police closed the road between Halfords and McDonalds to conduct their investigations.
Martin Dunscombe, from the police press office, said: “The road was closed until around 3.10pm while the emergency services responded to the incident.
“The man’s injuries were not serious and he is not expected to remain in hospital for much longer.”
