CHILDREN not expecting much for Christmas could have their hopes reignited by a present-giving initiative being run by the Link Centre, Family Focus and the Halcon One team.

A trolley-load of toys has been donated by ASDA in Taunton, to be matched up with the wish lists of youngsters from some of Taunton’s most deprived households.

Denise Chidgey, Link Centre manager, said: “Every child believes and deserves to believe in Santa, no matter what their parents have been through.

“Having experienced being a single parent myself, I know what it’s like to struggle and save, and hopefully this will take that little bit of burden off some parents, and give them a lift.”

From what I see in and around Halcon, ASDA donates numerous trolleys to the area every day throughout the year.
