POLICE have charged a 19-year-old man with assault following an incident at a pub in Merriott.

James Park, of Kingston Close, Street, has been charged with two counts of common assault after two men, aged 22 and 58, were injured at The King's Head pub in Church Street on Sunday, October 6.

A 26-year-old man, also arrested in connection with the inquiry, has been released without charge.

Mr Park has been released on bail to attend Yeovil Magistrates' Court on December 20.
