ONE of the biggest boy bands in music history will be gracing the stage at Bridgwater's Blake Hall in January.

Speaking exclusively to the Mercury, Dan Smith, of SRL Promotions, has revealed the boys from 'Blue' will be giving a full performance, followed by an after party meet and greet, at the venue on January 31, 2014.

He told the Mercury: “It's going to be the biggest band that's ever played in the town. I couldn't believe they'd agreed to do it, but the contract has been signed.

“They have been part of the Big Reunion tour alongside bands like Five and Atomic Kitten and have been supporting Wet Wet Wet. Those shows have been selling out.

“This is incredibly big news for Bridgwater and it's great that the band has agreed to play at a smaller venue of just 550.”

The band, made up of Lee Ryan, Antony Costa, Duncan James and Simon Webbe, will be performing 13 years on from the day they formed.

Blue have been working on their fourth studio album with the two-time Grammy winner RedOne (Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull). The band sold more than 15 million albums worldwide, with all three of the band's previous studio albums having reached the #1 slot.

Tickets for the Bridgwater show will go on sale locally for the first five days from around 2pm on Saturday (December 7), before being sold nationally.

Mr Smith added: “I wanted Bridgwater people to get first dibs on the tickets so I asked that they are given five days to get in there early.”

'Meet and Greet' tickets, which include the show and the chance to meet the band, are £60. Standard tickets are £30.
