ORGANISERS behind a home brewing competition linked with Burnham Food and Drink Festival are urging people not to drink all their creations over Christmas.

Next year’s festival will see the return of The Great Burnham Brew Off, sponsored by Balliihoo, and will have three classes: cider, hedgerow wine and kit wine.

Festival organiser Sarah Milner Simonds said: “Christmas time is the moment when many brewers have been saving their best bottles for, but please don't drink all your brews - save a bottle for the free-to-enter competition and go tankard to tankard with other local brewers.”

The competition is free to enter and all brewers will need to do is bring along a bottle, flagon or flask of their brew, along with a completed entry form before 2.30pm at the Festival on May 24, 2014.

Director at sponsors Balliihoo, Paul Ganfield, said: “All class winners will win a voucher from us and the Champion Brewer will win the accolade and the trophy.”
