Praise for mum and daughter who saved kingfisher
A MUM and her daughter who saved a kingfisher have been praised by the RSPCA.
Jo and Tawny Revell found the injured bird, which appeared to have flown into a window, on a routine visit to the newsagent in South Petherton.
They called the RSPCA to report it and their staff revived the bird to full strength.
The RSPCA and the Somerset Wildlife Trust have recommended Barcroft Hall in South Petherton as a suitable habitat to release the bird, who has been called Colin.
Brian and Denise Herrick have created not only the ‘field of dreams’ wildflower meadow but also over the past 13 years, a habitat for all types of wildlife.
Brian said: “We were delighted to help out. “We’ve already attracted two families of kingfishers, so Colin will be among friends.
“My congratulations go to Jo and Tawny – without their diligence this wonderful bird would have been lost.”
