North Petherton country food store celebrates second birthday
A COUNTRY food store in North Petherton is celebrating its second birthday with a special open day next week.
Malcolm Pyne and his wife, Julie, invested more than £1million to move their butcher’s business to a new site alongside the A38 back in 2011.
The couple increased the range of food and drink on sale at the store to include an array of local products, including cheese, cakes, fruit and vegetables, fish, cider and wine.
Malcolm said: “It has undoubtedly helped us build the business.
“In some ways I’m staggered by the amount of trade we’ve done in the past year.
“We’ve won a number of awards for our burgers and this year we did exceptionally well.”
On Thursday, November 7, customers will have the chance to meet some of the store’s suppliers, and enjoy free tastings and cookery demonstrations throughout the day.
