2:03pm Thursday 17th October 2013 in News
THREE fire engines from Chard, Crewkerne and Taunton were called to Horton shortly before 12pm today (October 17) in response to a report of burning.
The occupant of a property in Paulls Lane called the fire service to report an electrical smell of burning coming from inside.
Crews found a small amount of smoke coming from the kitchen.
They located the source of the smoke as the washing machine but found the fire was already out.
They removed the appliance to the open air as a precaution before making it safe.
There was only minor damage caused to the kitchen.
No-one was injured and after giving some fire safety advice, duty of care was left with the owner.
