Dead badger dumped on West Somerset MP's doorstep
THE West Somerset MP has condemned the actions of the person or people who left a dead badger on his doorstep after the start of the controversial badger cull.
Ian Liddell-Grainger believes the animal had been either beaten to death or poisoned and blames anti-cull protesters.
He said: “This badger wasn’t a victim of the cull – it was obvious it hadn’t been shot.
“If this is where we have got to with the cull, it’s a very sad situation that they have resorted to dumping dead badgers on people’s doorsteps, whoever they are.
“These people don’t have a clue what they are doing and obviously don’t care about the badgers – they just want to cause trouble. It just shows the mentality of certain people. It’s ridiculous.
“No matter what people feel, the cull is going ahead and quite honestly, people should be allowed to get on with what they are doing.”
Mr Liddell-Grainger added: “Luckily my children weren’t at home, otherwise I would have been slightly more cross.
“The police are aware of it.”
