UPDATED: Fallen wall creates rush hour delays in Bridgwater
COMMUTERS in Bridgwater will face delays this morning due to a stone wall crumbling onto the A39, Bath Road.
A car was broken down in front of the rubble, which had spilled over the road from a garden wall and was holding up cars heading toward Glastonbury.
The incident happened on the A39, close to the Bawdrip area.
The road is just passable due to the debris between New Road and Bawdrip Lane. The police are on scene helping clear the road. Traffic is coping and traffic lights have been brought in.
A police spokesman said PSCOs were sent to the scene just before 8am but no vehicles were involved in the collapse of the wall.
The spokesman said: "There was no accident - the wall just fell down.
"Police had to attend and deal with some traffic management."
Highways workers also attended the scene and temporary traffic lights have been put in place.
