Music fans turn out to Burnham FolkFest
BURNHAM was full of music fans over the weekend who had flocked to the town to enjoy the annual FolkFest.
Live bands and dance acts performed in the streets and pubs during the FolkFest, which began last Thursday.
Venues included The Royal Clarence, The Princess Theatre, Victoria pub, the Somerset and Dorset pub, the Waterfront pub and The Ritz.
Stilt walkers in colourful costumes entertained the crowds, as well as crafts stalls, free workshops and children’s activities.
There was even a classic Punch and Judy show at the Baptist Church and dancing demonstrations from Morris Men and clog and Flamenco dancers.
A more relaxed atmosphere fell on the town on Sunday, with further crowds pouring into Manor Gardens to enjoy a ‘KidsZone’, market, and more high-energy live music.
Organisers were delighted with the weekend’s success and thanked volunteers, including members of Hillview Carnival Club, who helped steward.
