Police ask for public feedback on custody suite privitisation
POLICE are asking the public for their view on plans for a purpose-built custody suite in Bridgwater.
As reported, Avon and Somerset Police will be moving into the new suite at Express Park, Bridgwater, next spring and are considering outsourcing their custody suites, prisoner transport and identification services to private firms.
The changes would see these services being taken over by the private sector but any decision would need approval from the Police and Crime Commissioner, Sue Mountstevens. The PCC will consider any proposal very carefully before making a final decision.
The move is hoped to provide a good service and get the best value for money.
