9:00am Monday 2nd September 2013 in News
Kirstie-Jane Dobson will brave the 5,895m climb of Africa’s highest mountain to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
She will be joined on her adventure by over 60 Boots colleagues from around the country.
The climb will take eight days in temperatures ranging from 40 degrees to -20 degrees.
Kirstie has been taking part in a wide range of fund-raising activities, including a fancy dress weekend in Boots, car boot sales and coffee mornings.
She has already raised £1,500 of her £4,500 target.
Kirstie said: “Cancer is often the toughest fight many people will ever face with two million people currently living with or beyond cancer in the UK a number set to rise to 4 million by 2030.
“I am really looking forward to doing my bit to help Macmillan reach more people affected by cancer and make sure nobody faces it alone.
“I am incredibly grateful for all the support I have received from my family friends and work colleagues your donations really do make a huge difference.”
