A BRIDGWATER pub is hosting a family fun charity event this weekend.
The Cornhill in Bridgwater, which is owned and operated by the Bramwell Pub Company, hold the event from tonight (Friday, August 30) until Sunday, September 1 in aid of Help for Heroes.
Alvin and Miri Mighty, from the Cornhill, said: “We are very excited about this event as it is a chance for us to introduce a new range of activities at the pub – such as the BBQ and live music – but also to get the community together to support a cause which lies close to our hearts.
“Several of our regular customers suggested that we support Help for Heroes and the decision to do so was unanimous amongst our staff.”
The team at the pub have planned a variety of activities to keep guests entertained throughout the weekend, starting with a two-hour set by cover band Levi and the Bean on Friday, August 30, at 9pm. This is the first live music performance to be held at the pub.
A BBQ will also be held in the beer garden, which will be open from 1pm on the Saturday. On the same day, the pub will be setting up fun fair stalls where guests can play various games and there will also be children’s face painting from 10am. Live sporting events will be shown on the pub’s big screen, including the Liverpool vs. Manchester United match on Sunday, September 1.
Raffles will be held over the weekend and guests can win prizes donated from local businesses. The winners of the Sunday raffle will be announced at 6pm and one lucky winner will go away with half of the money from the raffle sales. The other half will be donated to the charity.
