Two nightclubs coming to Taunton this Autumn
CLUBBERS in Taunton can look forward to TWO nightclubs opening in the next couple of months.
The former Que Pasa site in High Street will be transformed into a bar and nightclub called L8, and as its name suggests it is set to open later than other late-night venues across the town.
According to a website page set up in anticipation of the new venue, the opening hours could be 8pm to 4am, Thursday to Saturday.
Work on the building is to start imminently with the doors scheduled to open in October.
A spokesman for Marston’s Brewery, owners of the venue, declined to go into detail about the venue, but confirmed that a licensing application had been made and preparations were in the “final stages”.
The website page claims the venue will “get Taunton back on the nightlife scene” and is “exactly what the county town is lacking”.
Meanwhile, building workat the former Bliss nightclub site at the top of East Reach is also nearing completion with bosses planning to open at the end of September.
The venue has undergone a £250,000 revamp, and will now be a Hawaiian-themed cocktail bar called Aloha and nightclub called KHODE.
It will be run by owners 241 Leisure, who also run the Okoko nightclub in Bridge Street.
*THE first floor space above The Perkin Warbeck Wetherspoons pub in East Street will soon be turned into a snooker hall.
Rumours included an extension of the pub chain, but a Wetherspoons spokesman told the County Gazette the currently vacant space will soon be rented out to a snooker company, which it declined to name
