UPDATED: Man arrested on suspicion of arson following Bridgwater fire
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson after three people were evacuated from a house fire in Bridgwater this week.
The huge blaze broke out in the early hours of August 28, in Kendale Road, which saw three fire crews from Bridgwater and the police rush to the scene.
On August 29 the police told the Mercury a 20-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of arson. He remained in police custody.
UPDATE (September 2): Jason Beviss, 22, from Bell Close, Bridgwater, appeared at Taunton Dean Magistrates Court on August 30 charged with arson with intent to endanger life. He has been remanded in custody awaiting a trial at Taunton Crown Court on September 23.
