Bridgwater College Academy student bags job with Homes in Sedgemoor
A BRIDGWATER College Academy student has bagged a job after receiving her A-Level results.
Rebecca Leatt says she is “over the moon” to have been offered a job as a direct result of work experience at Sedgemoor District Council offices with Homes in Sedgemoor (HiS).
She is looking forward to starting her new job with the landlord.
The Academy worked with HiS on a project called ‘Young Apprentice/Junior Job Club’ which saw 12 Year 11 students recruited for the scheme.
Ellie Webber, work experience co-ordinator at the Academy, said: “They took part in five sessions with an outside trainer at the Academy, working towards a final presentation and interview which they did in front of HiS’ Dawn Lang and Kerry Rickards, Chief Executive of Sedgemoor District Council.
“Rebecca was one of two successful candidates chosen to take part in four weeks of work experience, for which they were paid £100.
“Jordon Harris finished his work experience based with local contractors within the construction area on August 23 and we hope he will be just as successful.”
