A TALENTED teenage singer-songwriter from Taunton is launching a charity single in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
On Sunday (September 1), Beki Upham, a 15-year-old student from the town, will release A Moment In Time, complete with an accompanying music video.
All proceeds from the record are set to go to the charity, which works to improve the lives of youngsters facing the disease.
Beki is now considered a veteran on Taunton’s open mic circuit, after a year’s worth of singing and playing around town, with talent beyond her years.
She situates herself with the country-pop genre, looking to artists such as Taylor Swift, Casting Crowns, Owl City, Evanescence, Avril Lavigne, Jessie J and The Script for her inspiration.
And it’s not the first time the young artist has harnessed her talent for a worthy cause.
In 2011, she wrote and recorded her first ever single download, ‘All I Need’, to raise money for the Taunton Association for the Homeless.
