Bridgwater bus users asked for views ahead of meeting
A MEETING will be held to discuss controversial changes to bus services in Bridgwater following a sea of complaints from residents.
Sedgemoor District Council’s Community Scrutiny Committee will focus on bus services and other transport issues in the town at its meeting on September 2.
Although SDC is not responsible for public transport, many residents have contacted the council following the cancellation of certain bus routes in the Bridgwater area. A spokesman said: “Public transport is a vital service for a rural area such as Sedgemoor.
“The purpose of the meeting is to clarify the changes to bus routes, to allow the community to voice concerns and to facilitate potential solutions. “It is also hoped the meeting can promote better integration between types of public transport – buses and trains in particular.”
The committee wants to hear from people affected by the changes and is asking them to attend the meeting at Bridgwater Rugby Club at 2.30pm.
REGISTER to speak by contacting 01278-435739 or email to Leila.email@example.com by noon on Thursday, August 29.
