Cotford St Luke author's chick lit book rises through Amazon charts in UK and US
11:00am Friday 23rd August 2013 in News
A NO-NONSENSE chick lit by a Taunton writer has been rapidly rising up the Amazon book charts.
Darel Pace’s Broken Dreams and Bottom Lines reached number seven in the UK comedy charts and number 12 in the US.
The author, who lives in Cotford St Luke, published her “real woman’s” romantic comedy after getting fed up with fiction’s lazy love for the “happy ever after”.
The 35-year-old, who lives with her teenage children Connor and Caitlyn a stone’s throw from where she was born, also works full time as English teacher and head of media at Taunton’s Bishop Fox’s School.
From today (August 23), she’s inviting people to take part in a reviewing competition.
Darel said: “The first five reviews placed on Amazon will get a character named after them, and a copy of the sequel before it is released, in paperback.
“The next 15 will have their name in the comments section of one of the main character's blog posts, and the first 20 on Goodreads will get a free ebook copy of the sequel before it is released. Anyone who enters must send me their contact details.”
