AN INCREDIBLE £6,000 has been raised for charity after a tight-knit group of West Somerset family and friends completed an epic cycle challenge.
Members of Team Moisy, which was set up after Moira Blackmore lost her battle with a brain tumour in July 2011, cycled from John O’Groats to Land’s End in just ten days.
Cyclists Paul Harrison and Chris Thorne, teachers at Minehead Middle School, were accompanied by a strong support crew throughout the challenge.
They said: “Team Moisy would like to thank everybody who has so generously supported and made donations to the cause.
“We would like to thank all the shops and businesses in Minehead and Williton who were so generous in their support, particularly Morrisons and the Coop in Minehead, City West Commercials in Avonmouth and Delivery Direct Logistics in Taunton.”
All the money raised will be donated to St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice, which helped Moira through her fight with the disease.
