BLESSED with perfect summer weather, the Porlock Country Fair lived up to its promise of being even bigger and better than last year.
Food and craft stalls selling everything from jam to greetings cards were complemented by traditional activities such as yarn-spinning and even demonstrations in thatching and blacksmithing on the village’s recreation ground.
The Punch and Judy show, dog and duck roundup, emergency services vehicles and a wide array of classic cars and motorbikes meant there was something for everyone.
Ivor Jones, of the Porlock Recreation Ground Management Committee, said: “A special thankyou is due to the crew at Porlock Fire Station for putting up the bunting in the village.
“This decoration will remain for the Porlock Carnival on September 7 – another highly popular local event not to be missed.”
