A LEAP of faith is what’s needed tomorrow (August 4) when a firefighter from Porlock will be skydiving for charity.

Crew manager Matthew Norris will reach speeds of up to 125mph when he jumps from 15,000ft at Dunkeswell Airfield near Honiton.

He has so far raised almost £300 for The Fire Fighters Charity ahead of the big day and wants more people to support him in boosting funds for a charity dedicated to helping fire service personnel who have suffered injuries while on duty.

Matthew, 27, who has been in the service for six years, said: “I understand life is tough and we need to watch the pounds but there will come a point in everyone’s life when they require the help of a firefighter – a firefighter who will not hesitate to jump into harm’s way to ensure your safety.

“Wouldn’t it be good to know that you played you part in helping to support that person?” To sponsor Matthew, visit www.justgiving.co m/MatthewMorris2
