TWO women from Burnham have cycled more than 100 miles to raise over £1,200 for charity.

Natasha Salter, from Stoddens Road, and Clare Kingston, from Lynton Road, travelled from Torquay to Burnham in a tandem bike ride to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support.

The girls, both 23, work at the Nationwide Building Society and visited each of the company’s branches along their journey, collecting donations on the way.

Natasha’s dad, Clive Salter, who runs CJS Painting and Decorating in Highbridge, said: “They chose MacMillan because there are so many people affected by cancer and they thought this would be a good cause.

“I drove the support vehicle and I have never seen two happier girls going along. I’m so proud of them both.”

The pair thanked everyone for their support and said the amount raised has exceeded their expectations.
