Volunteer recruitment drive

10:31am Thursday 30th November 2006

A VOLUNTEER recruitment event is being held between 3pm to 5pm on December 6 at the Yeovil Foyer in Peter Street for anyone interested in sharing interests, skills and experience in exchange for rewarding opportunities.

Futures need people with a wide range of skills to work alongside young people at Yeovil Foyer and people with mental health problems as part of a new community resource service starting next year.

After recruitment, volunteers will help in a variety of ways - from helping people get out and enjoy leisure facilities or by sharing their skills, to assisting groups and workshops. It's a chance for people to give something back to their communities, whilst themselves gaining new skills and experience.

Knightstone's operations and development manager, Paula Rowe, said: "Our volunteers are vital in the work we do. They help people to gain confidence and reach their goals and aspirations. We'll give anyone interested in becoming a volunteer all the support they need to help others towards independence.

"Please come and join us for an informal chat over mince pies and fruit punch to learn more about us and what we do."

If you are interested in finding out more, please just come along to the event, or alternatively contact Paula Rowe on 01202-505541.
