CASH made during a festive parking blunder in Wellington has been handed to the town’s hospital.
The money, £650 in total, was accrued through parking fines at Christmas – despite Taunton Deane Council agreeing to waive parking charges on the four Saturdays before December 25.
Last week a cheque was handed to the hospital to buy vital equipment that will also save some patients the hassle of travelling to Taunton.
The photo shows Wellington Mayor Cllr Vivienne Stock-Williams (centre) with senior sister Kim Cooper, Wellington Hospital League of Friends President Janet Meredith, along with fellow trustees.
Cllr Stock-Williams said: “It is heartening news that this unexpected windfall is being put to such good use.”
