A TEENAGE singer from Bridgwater is just one step away from performing at London's O2 arena, after impressing the judges of a music competition.

As reported, Sophie Milsom, of Beech Drive, made it through to the Regional Final of TeenStar, a competition run by Future Music, the producer of the Open Mic UK competition.

Now the 16-year-old, who is influenced by country singer Taylor Swift, has made it to the Area Finals and is just one great performance away from singing in the National Final at the popular venue.

Sophie said: “I went to compete in the Regional Final in Cardiff with a really bad cold and was so worried that I had no chance. But I am so pleased the judges put me through to Reading.

“We all had a great night and my friends all cheered me on and made me feel so good.”

TeenStar searches for the UK's best teen and pre-teen singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists of all genres performing either covers or original material.

The latter stages of the TeenStar competition will provide acts with the opportunity to impress representatives from record labels, agencies and the entertainment industry.
