WorkLife job club set for official launch
PEOPLE out of work in the Chard area are being given a potential lifeline - thanks to a job club at the Forefront Community Centre.
WorkLife has been running for several months now and more than 30 people have been given support writing CVs, creating their own e-mail systems and registering with job vacancy websites.
The WorkLife project is open every Tuesday between 9.30am and 12.30pm and volunteer worker Ben Grave told the News it had been kept ‘very busy’.
“WorkLife is there for anyone unemployed and actively seeking work,” he said. “We want to help them in their search for employment.
“People can come and use our computers to search for jobs or write their CV. We have volunteers here to help them through the process.”
Yeovil MP David Laws will visit the Forefront centre in Fore Street, Chard, tomorrow (Friday) to officially launch WorkLife.
WorkLife is open on Friday between 11am and 1pm for anyone who wants to drop in and see the services on offer.
