Hungary's second most wanted arrested in Bridgwater
HUNGARY'S second most wanted man has been arrested by police in Bridgwater.
Officers from Avon and Somerset Police arrested the 40-year-old man in Kings Road under a European arrest warrant.
He had been living and working in the UK for more than 14 years under a false name and was wanted for the murder of another man in Hungary.
His disappearance elevated him to the country's second most wanted fugitive.
The Hungarian National Bureau of Investigation contacted Avon and Somerset Police to execute the warrant.
Detective Inspector Andy Bevan said: “This result goes to show that no crime is ever forgotten and we will work closely with our colleagues from other countries to place suspects before the courts whether that is here or abroad.
“Avon and Somerset's Serious Crime Group has excellent links with the extradition unit and we will be relentless in arresting people wanted for violent crimes who think they can evade justice living in our force area.”
